Hello, I'm Sam

Over the years, I've supported clients through a wide range of experiences, including loss and bereavement, anger, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and difficulties in relationships.

I'm a fully qualified psychotherapist and an accredited member of the UKCP, and I work in line with the UKCP's ethical framework across all areas of my practice.

My approach is Integrative, which means I draw on several different therapeutic styles and bring them together in a way that's shaped around you and what you need. The approaches I work with include –

Gestalt Therapy

A way of working that focuses on what's happening for you in the here and now – your feelings, your body, your awareness in the moment.

This can be helpful if you'd like to feel more present in your own life, or to notice the things you tend to avoid or push away.

Transactional Analysis

Looking at the different "parts" of ourselves – the patterns we learned in childhood that still shape how we communicate, relate, and respond today.

This can be particularly useful if you find yourself slipping into familiar dynamics in relationships and want to understand the roles you take on.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Our earliest bonds shape how safe we feel with others, and how we connect throughout life. This approach gently explores those early relationships and the imprint they've left.

It can be valuable if closeness feels difficult, or if you notice recurring struggles with trust, intimacy or feeling secure with others.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Rather than trying to push difficult thoughts and feelings away, ACT helps you make space for them, while moving towards what truly matters to you.

This can offer a fresh perspective if you've felt stuck in a cycle of trying to "fix" how you feel, and want a more compassionate way forward.

Compassion-Focused Therapy

Many of us carry a harsh inner critic. This approach helps you develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself, especially in moments of struggle.

It can be a gentle and grounding fit if shame, self-criticism or feelings of not being good enough often come up for you.
